There will be no yearbook meeting today.  If any yearbook staff members have pictures, please see Mrs. Miller immediately.

The student council will be hosting the annual Winter Carnival Dance this Friday evening from 8:00 pm till 11:00 pm.  This is a semi-formal event—boys should wear a shirt and tie; girls, a dress.  Points will be awarded to your class if you attend.  Tickets will be $5.00 per person at the door.

Listen up juniors!  If you are interested in going to college after high school—you are strongly encouraged to sign up for Destination College.  This is a free program that will give you and your parents a chance to learn about everything you need to know to prepare for college.  Space is limited, so sign up soon.  See your counselor if you need more information.

Student Council will be selling chocolate roses for Valentines Day—a perfect way to show how much you care about that special someone.  Roses will be on display at all lunches and are being sold for $1.00 each – the roses will be delivered on Friday, February 12th.

ATHLETIC NEWS

The varsity boys’ basketball team defeated Prospect Mt., 57-47 while the JV’s lost, 42-36.

The wrestling team had a good showing at the Twin Rivers meet on Saturday with Eli Dufresne and Christian Wilkins both finishing 2nd and Mike Bruning with a 4th place finish.

The weight room will be open Monday-Thursday, until February vacation from 3:15-4:30 for all students.

The girls’ basketball team will be home tonight against Stevens, with the JV game beginning at 5pm.

The girls’ ski team will be at the State Championships all day today.

Auditions for this years spring musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, will be held tomorrow on the stage at 6 pm. For more information, please see Ms. Wiencek.

The boys’ basketball team will be home tonite against Inter-Lakes with the JV game beginning at 5pm.

The wrestling team will have its Senior Night this Wednesday in their last home match of the year.

The weight room will be open from 3:15-4:30, Monday-Thursday, until February vacation for all students, with the exception of tomorrow.

Athletic News

The wrestling team lost to Newport, 48-24. Mike Bruning, Christian Wilkins and Caleb Currier got pins for the Bears. They edged Campbell, 37-36, with Eddie O’Malley, Christian Wilkins and Caleb Currier pinning their opponents. The wrestling team will have its Senior Night this Wednesday in their last home match of the year.

One acts are Friday at 7pm

This year’s one-act play competition will be this Friday at 7pm. Come and support your class!
Senior one-act cast: please meet in room 211 right after school to get ready for dress rehearsal.

Freshman one-act rehearsal will be from 3 to 4:30 pm today on the stage.

The TTCC and Project PROMISE proudly presents the first high school night out field trip of the new year.  We will be going to Gunstock for tubing, next Wednesday! WOOO! Permission slips are available outside the main office and in Room 106.  See Mr. Carbee if you have any questions.

Project PROMISE will be offering alternative outdoor activities during midterm week.  Activities will run after lunchtime from 12:15 to 2pm.  Sign-up will be in the cafeteria during lunch.  Homework club will also be available from 12:15 to 2:30.  See Mr. Carbee if you have any questions.

Attention seniors:  Be sure to fill out the FAFSA (also known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid) if you are planning on using loans for college.  Don’t wait until it’s too late.

Attention juniors:  This is a great time to start researching about the college process.  Thousands of students in NH will be registering for Destination College in which they can attend a daylong informational session all about college.  This is free, and registration is limited.  The date is March 27th this year and it will be at Southern NH University.  See your counselor for details to sign up.

This week is the ABSOLUTE FINAL opportunity to purchase a yearbook.  Don’t be left empty-handed in the spring.  Remember, extras are not ordered.  If you want a book, you MUST bring your money in or you can purchase online with a credit card by Friday.

Attention Seniors: A deposit needs to be made on the motel for the Senior Trip by the end of the week.  You need to make a commitment on whether you are going on the trip so we can set aside the required number of rooms.  A $25 deposit is needed to confirm your commitment.  If you have a problem, please see Mrs. Limanni or Mrs. Ballou so something can be worked out.

The varsity girls basketball team lost to Mascoma, 47-35 with the JV girls also losing 38-16. The varsity boys lost 57-44 while the JV’s boys were victorious.

Tomorrow, the wrestling team will be hosting their 13th Annual Bears Booster Club Invitational starting at 10am. There will be almost 100 wrestlers competing in this tourney.

The ski team will be gone all day as they are at a meet at Gunstock.

Attention sophomores: we are looking for one more actor for the one-act play. If interested, please see Ms. Coleman or Mrs. Devost ASAP.

The wrestling team defeated Winnisquam, 30-12, and were led by Mike Bruning and Brendan Shepard, who each got pins.

The varsity girls’ basketball team defeated Franklin, 54-41, behind the hot shooting of Charissa Plummer and Jordan Phinney.

Attention all Ski and Snowboard Club members!  If you have not picked up a packet from Mr. Carbee you must do so immediately.  We will be having a brief meeting Thursday January 7th at 3pm in the cafeteria.  If you are interested in ski and Attention Seniors: You can still pay the $25 deposit for the senior class trip.  If you want to commit 100% to going on the senior class trip but need to make payment arrangements, please see Mrs. Limanni or Brooks Bergholm.
