The Literary Magazine will be holding a meeting Thursday morning at 7:30 in room 216. All aspiring writers and editors are encouraged to attend.
Get your class ahead of the game for Winter Carnival by donating soup to the canned soup drive. Student Council will be collecting canned goods from November 16th to the 24th during lunches. This year the class with the most cans will get 200 Winter Carnival points, 2nd place will get 100, and 3rd will get 50. Each can of soup will count as 2 points to your class’s total amount of cans, while other canned goods will only count for 1 point. The cans will be donated to help people in need. The winner will be announced November 25th.
The Bristol Police Explorers will be hosting an open house on Wednesday November 18, 2009 at 5:00 PM at the Bristol Police Department. Anyone interested in participating or learning more should contact Gylene Salmon at the Bristol PD or join them at the open house. Participation is for those 13-21 years of age.
Mr. Judd and Ms. Wiencek are still hoping to find a couple of elves to be Masters of Ceremonies for this year’s Christmas at Newfound. If you are interested in spreading some holiday joy, please see one of them for more information.
Athletic News
The football team finished their season with a 7-2 record and now will be in the State Tournament for the first time in their history on Saturday at 1pm at Winnisquam. The field is behind the outlet mall so turn left at Applebee’s. Admission for playoff games is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
There will be a meeting for students interested in playing on the boys’ basketball team at 3pm today in Mr. Merrifield’s room.
There will also be a meeting for those students interested in being on the Spirit team today at 3pm in the cafeteria.
The Fall Athletic Awards program will be Thursday at 6:30pm.
